Director of Tennis
Oscar Blacutt began his professional teaching career at High Point Country Club in 1993 as an assistant tennis pro. In 1995, he founded Carolina Tennis Academy in Greensboro. Blacutt has worked with several nationally ranked players, including two top 10 junior players in the U.S. He also has served as a tennis instructor at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. Blacutt was ranked No. 1 as a junior player in Bolivia, as well as in the open division. He was an All-American at Barton College, a four-time Davis Cup player for Bolivia and a Gold Medalist at the 2002 Latin American Olympic Games. Blacutt also is a former No. 1 ranked player in North Carolina in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. One of his most recognized tennis students is John Isner, who started working with Blacutt at the age of 9 at Willow Creek. Isner is now a top 10 player in the world. Blacutt grew up in La Paz, Bolivia. He and his wife, Julie, are the proud parents of Gianna and Max.
